One can be sure they are in for a very entertaining read when the writings are from Perry Stone. His hard work is very apparent in his genuine, visible passion for the faith. Whether you agree or not with Mr. Stone’s findings and biblical perspectives (e.g., speaking in tongues), it is guaranteed that an adventure ensues through the pages of his research, not unlike in his latest work Opening the Gates of Heaven. Among the most fascinating issues in this book are found within the “Seven Spiritual Laws for Answered Prayer” such as asking in Jesus’ name, standing in agreement with one another and aligning with the will of God. My favorite inclusion are the scientific facts that Perry Stone parallels with the Holy Scriptures such as “Time Dilation Theories” while expounding on Jacob’s Ladder.
As usual Stone gets so revved up on one particular topic that he ends up going off on a tangent, but consequently winds up being relevant and sometimes surprisingly revelatory. Another recurring trait is that I found myself bookmarking many areas to share with others for enlightenment. Opening the Gates of Heaven is a fun, educational read, most of which proves to be quite significant and precious to tie in with one’s Christianity, but I would first recommend two others of my familiarity of Stone’s before venturing into this one: Secrets From Beyond the Grave and Purging Your House, Pruning Your Family Tree.
