Our 2012 devotional, Daily Gifts of Grace, is a collection of daily readings about that very thing. It expresses in 366 ways—it’s Leap Year, you know—that daily gift of grace has played out in the lives of the women whose words are shared here: in a kind comment from a stranger, a sunbeam streaking through storm clouds, a child’s innocent insight, a revelation birthed in a moment of heartache, a laugh-out-loud moment that transformed pain to pleasure.

Daily Gifts of Grace is visually alluring with meaningful messages by well-known and admired authors, but for the price, I would have to say there could have been much more included. The first ingredient found to be missing is a section, however large or small, for personal writing; a place for the reader to take notes contemplating the day's inspiration. Never judge a book by its cover: it looks just like a diary of sorts, yet if the reader wants to jot down some ink, it must be in the margins. To be honest, the two reasons I chose this for review were the aforementioned exterior and Patsy Clairmont's contribution.
With the presuppostition that this would make an attractive and influential gift, I decided to keep it for myself as a treat to open the new year, seasoning my path in Christ along the way as I parallel it with yet another source for writing. Afterall, the bulk of importance in any devotional is the inscribed content. On the flip-side, it is heartwarming. A beautiful treasure for anyone seeking that shoulder to lean on and to realize that women exist out there just like you, allowing one to never lose sight of the love God has for each of his children. Through all of the turmoils and rejoicing or serenity and monotony inbetween, faith and grace is never forsaken. Each individual path is well-defined, yet uniquely aligned with our sisters in Christ.
All in all, Daily Gifts of Grace does encompass lovely sentiments and reflections on the Word, again with a very pretty binding, but to equate the price: it does not.
Women of Faith is a faith-based women's organization encouraging women of all ages and stages in life to grow in faith and spiritual maturity through a relationship with Jesus Christ and an understanding of God’s love and grace. Women of Faith speakers share insight, advice, laughter, and maybe even a few tears in this daily devotional.
